Overview

As new feature design for Cogence’s investment platform, I led the design of the Insights Feature, a curated content hub designed to empower financial advisors with timely, credible, and actionable information. The goal was to simplify how advisors access market intelligence, platform updates, and educational materials while embedding the feature into a new, unified design system. My approach balanced user-centered design, visual consistency, and scalable systems thinking, ensuring both immediate usability and long-term design efficiency.

Intelligent Content Experience

Transforming Information Overload into Actionable Insights

Advisors were previously overwhelmed by fragmented resources spread across multiple channels. I reframed this challenge as an opportunity to create a central, discoverable hub that prioritizes clarity, relevance, and accessibility. Through journey mapping and content hierarchy analysis, I defined a structure that surfaces high-value content, videos, podcasts, and articles - in a single, cohesive interface. Key design choices such as adaptive cards, quick previews, and offline download options allowed users to engage intuitively and maintain productivity even on the go. The resulting experience blends functionality and focus, helping advisors stay informed and deliver timely, data-driven guidance to their clients.

Systematizing Design Consistency

Rebuilding Cohesion Through Design System Standardization

The existing design library lacked clarity and scalability, resulting in fragmented layouts and inconsistent user experiences. My approach began by auditing existing assets, identifying redundancies, and defining foundational variables, primitives, and components to support cohesive future development. I introduced standardized typography scales, spacing tokens, and color primitives aligned with accessibility best practices. Each component, from content tiles to interactive filters, was designed for reusability and clarity, creating a shared design language across the platfrom. Collaborating closely with engineering ensured the system was practical, adaptable, and technically feasible. Feedback loops helped refine usability enhancements like filtering logic, content preview behavior, and phased content rollout, directly improving the overall experience and workflow efficiency.

The redesigned Insights feature positioned the homepage as an intelligent entry point that connects users to personalized, actionable content. The improved usability and system foundation created long-term value for both users and the business. Conclusion

The Insights Feature demonstrated how strategic design systems and user-centered thinking can elevate B2C fintech platforms beyond functional tools into insightful, empowering experiences. By approaching the problem through both macro-level system design and micro-level interaction design, I helped transform scattered information into a curated knowledge ecosystem that strengthens advisor performance and client confidence.
